About Maya

Maya Cederlund is September 2026 master's candidate at Northwestern University’s D.C. Medill Investigative Lab and a 2025 White House Correspondents’ Association scholar. Cederlund is currently an investigative reporting intern for WBEZ Chicago.

Last summer, she interned for NPR-affiliate KCUR 89.3 and was a reporting fellow for the Investigative Reporting Workshop.

Her two-year investigation into AU’s Title IX office won a regional award from the Society of Professional Journalists. Her piece about adoptees was listed under NBC Asian America’s Editor’s Picks section, a “selection of the best reporting and most interesting stories from NBC News.”

Cederlund graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., where she worked as DEI Editor at The American University Eagle and co-founded AU’s Asian American Journalists Association chapter.
